Hump Day

Thanksgiving sure did come and go. That's not to say Bear and I didn't slip into food comas after overdoing it on the turkey. I love Thanksgiving because it's simply about eating. No gifts, no hassles, no compulsion to go to church. You just eat. And when you're done eating, you lay around until you're hungry again. Plus you get a couple days off of work to do it. Who could really ask for anything more out of a holiday?

But here we are, the weekend has come and gone and up here in Portland they're predicting freezing rain for tonight. Being new to the area, I'm not 100% sure what that is. My first thought was that freezing rain was snow, but my coworkers have disabused me of that notion. Apparently it's something more in the form of ice, but it isn't hail. It's complicated. I do know that it doesn't sound like something I'd particularly want to drive in.

That's how exciting life is right now, I'm blogging about the weather. But on the bright side, be sure to keep an eye out for some holiday posts this week, Bear and I are cooking up some good stuff. Until then, I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend.

It's Thanksgiving, Charlie Brown

You know the holidays are fast approaching when the networks actually take a break to show a classic holiday special. Needless to say, Bear and I were surprised to find the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Special on at 8pm last night. Not only that, but they backed it up with a special episode of He's A Bully Charlie Brown! The Thanksgiving special is Charlie Brown at his finest so it's a good thing that they're actually starting to air these gems once again after such a long hiatus.

Although it's not quite as psychedelic as the Christmas special with the odd pauses and strange musical dance numbers, the Thanksgiving special still brings out the self deprecation that makes good old chuck so loveable. I'm looking forward to seeing what else the networks are digging out, hopefully we will get some grinch or garfield come Christmas.
